PlateJoy: Full Stack Web-Application Engineer

Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
URL: https://www.platejoy.com

PlateJoy is building the technology to power disease prevention and treatment through digital nutrition programs that are more efficacious than drugs. We believe in the power of healthy food to change lives.

We're seeking our first engineering hire to take the lead (in collaboration with our technical cofounder) implementing new features as we build out the PlateJoy chronic disease interventions. Our codebase is robust, built in Ruby on Rails 5.1 and React 16, with an extensive RSpec suite. We work with PHI (protected health information), so everything we do is HIPAA compliant, but we leverage the modern SaaS ecosystem (e.g. Datica) to keep ourselves as nimble as possible.

We're a small but growing, close-knit team. We work hard but laugh a lot. Humility and willingness to learn are key.

This position requires someone who can jump in and begin contributing to a complex Rails & React app, so we need someone with depth of experience who can also work remotely, in collaboration with our CTO, Daniel.

Requirements:
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a Rails developer
  • At least 2 years' experience working in React
